Our costs are based on our hourly rate of £280 plus VAT at 20%.

On average the cost of dealing with stages 1 and 2 (you can find out more about the stages here)  is likely to fall between £3,500 and £10,000 plus VAT at 20% and the average number of hours spent working on such a matter is likely to fall between 15 hours and 40 hours.

If we are instructed to deal with stage 1 only, then the average cost is likely to be halved.

For a very simple estate the cost is unlikely to exceed £3,500 plus V.A.T at 20%.

Disbursements

The disbursements (payments to third parties) likely to be incurred are as follows:-

Probate Application Fee -                                                                                                  £273 (plus £1.50 for each additional copy).

Trustee Act Notices in the London Gazette and local newspaper               £200 approx.

(protects against unexpected claims from unknown creditors.)

Office Copy Entry (where a property forms part of the estate)                    £3
